Scarlett and Nate met in Los Angeles, and it was love at first sight; after some time dating in LA, they decided to move to Ohau, Hawaii, to finish college and set their life up.
We met on a Tuesday morning in November, very early, for sunrise at Makapu'u Beach. It was so lovely getting outside the house wearing only shorts, a teeshirt, and a pair of flip-flops feeling the warmth of the Island (let's remember I live in Seattle, and we're in November haha); what a nice feeling! It was the most beautiful sunrise ever:
It was a mix of pink and orange.
The clouds were dancing with the sun.
The sand was golden and warm
The ocean was warm
Scarlett and Nate were the cutest couple ever.
Anyway, we met on that beautiful Makapu'u beach on Oahu, and we started our adventure on the beach; between the lava rocks, the sand, and the ocean, we had plenty of choices. We began with the lava rocks, and we were surprised by the strength of the waves hitting the rocks, just magical; then we headed on the beach and had fun on the sand, and of course, we ended up in the ocean playing in the water.
Scarlett and Nate are so in love; you can feel it just looking at them. When I take photos of couples, I like to help them learn how to "pose," but I want them to be themself and to feel, live and enjoy that moment without the feeling of having a paparazzi take pictures of them.
So, I asked them to look at each other, talk, run, cuddle, kiss, etc. This is how we get candid photos and real feelings in the images.
While the sun started to rise in the sky, I offered them to jump in the water; as the temperature was already pretty warm, they just ran in the ocean with a heartbeat, and it was SO fun!
They played in the water, jumped in the waves, and it felt so good. They enjoyed every minute of the adventure session we had. They will remember that day!
We spent the day together before their elopement and ceremony at Sunset at another beach on the Island.
Shooting at the beach and ocean is a very different feeling than in the mountains of the PNW. Don't get me wrong, I love both, but let's be honest, having the chance to shoot a wedding in Hawaii for a little Frenchie like me is more than a dream; I couldn't even imagine It would happen one day.
I had the chance to go to Oahu and to Maui, both are really different but so beautiful. I can't wait to discover Kauai and Big Island while capturing, maybe, your love and your beautiful day! Hawaii is the Islands of dream, love, and peace, which I want to capture with the eloping couples.
If you are looking for an elopement photographer in Hawaii, I am your girl!
